Very valid points. The US isn't perfect, and we may/may not be in a conflict we shouldn't be, and we might sometimes try to persuade people to our way of thinking through measures, but all things considered we keep our nose pretty clean.
All I have to say about this topic is no country has ever been more reserved with their power than contemporary USA. The USA is the world's only "superpower" yet has not been overbearing with that power in respect to expanding of its empire. Does anyone think that Napolean, Hitler, King Richard of England or Ghengis Khan would have ever been content with the power they had and just settled for less than ruling the entire world? How bout the Roman Empire? All the great dynasties in the history of the world have sought to conquer other lands and spread their rule to a larger scale. If the Roman Empire goes into Iraq do you think they rebuild their country, help them build a new gov't and then give it back to them? Not a chance in Hades...their philosophy would have been: we took it, its ours...your country and your oil now belongs to us.
I'm proud to be an American because Americans for the most part want are non conquering, freedom loving citizens who want to pursue their own happiness and give other countries a chance to pursue theirs in the way that they see fit. The thing that is even greater about America is those who try to prevent or impede the aforementioned will bring wrath of which could only come from a country whose motto is "One Nation Under God." Its kinda like the biggest strongest kid on the play ground who never bothers anyone and just wants to mind his own business...but people don't like him just because he is the biggest and strongest(and has the best shoes) so they can't resist but to go flip his ear or kick dirt in is eye...thats when the trouble starts.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
My two cents on this. Terrorism is an unsuspecting attack on a group of people. For instance, in war you know who you are fighting. The revolutionary war was fought mainly by terrorism imo. America felt that was the only way they could win and they were rigth but we to did use terrorism. The Brits used terrorism in war also by burning our towns and raping thousands upon thousands of American women. Sadly, whether you all want to admitt it or not Terrorism has and always will be apart of the world we live in.

Well what happened in the revolutionary war could vaguely be called terrorism but it was an oppressed people who were being unfairly taxed yet not represented and they in turn revolted. The term terrorism is a broad term but the revolutionary war should in no way be compared to the type of terrorism we see today. There is no fundemental reason for the actions of the middle eastern terrorist other than hate. They have a deep seeded hatred for westerners due to a variety of reasons including religion. They are seeking to kill as many westerners and non muslims as they can while in the process winning favor from Allah. If you are defending yourself, your family or country thats one thing but these modern day terrorist are motivated by none of the above. It is ultimately a selfish endeavor in that they are taking the lives of others whom they see as infidels for the purpose of their own salvation and approval from their fellow Muslims.

19 November 2005: According to Army Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Shaffer, the first of several Able Danger participants to come forward, Mohammed Atta, the leader of Al Qaeda's passenger aircraft hijack terrorist team, was identified by name in 1999 during the course of Able Danger's data mining operation. LTC Shaffer is also on record stating that Able Danger's highly-classified intelligence operation also identified three other members of Atta's Al Qaeda hijack team at the time.
Had Able Danger actionable intelligence information been presented to the FBI then the events of September 11, 2001 might never have happened. History as we know it might be radically different. On three separate occasions scheduled meetings between Able Danger officers and the FBI were cancelled at the last minute by Clinton-era Department of Defense lawyers in 2000 and 2001. Both print and audio records exist of LTC Shaffer stating that he was at the point of insubordination with a very senior officer in his pursuit of the objective to have Able Danger data given to those who job it is to carry the domestic intelligence mission forward.
To this date we do not know the full extent of the actionable intelligence data Able Danger discovered. We have tantalizing clues and some direct statements, one of which is that the attack on the USS Cole could have and should have been averted. I have already discussed the effect Able Danger would have had upon recent history. However, I am also very concerned and highly suspicious that there is an even bigger bombshell within the testimony of the actual participants of Able Danger.
With Mohammed Atta having been identified by Able Danger in 1999 then it is entirely plausible that Able Danger intelligence also may have information concerning Mohammed Atta's travels and movements in and out of the United States during the period between 1999 and September 11, 2001. I think it entirely plausible that among the 2.4 terabytes of Able Danger data contain solid evidence, if not proof, that Mohammed Atta visited Prague , Czech Republic on three different occasions and that met with Ahmed al-Ani, the Iraqi Al-Mukhabarat station chief on two of those visits. This would provide the bullet from the current and still smoking gun regarding a direct link between Al Qaeda, Saddam Hussein , Iraq and the events of September 11.
The "official"? word is that US intelligence did not detect the 9/11 hijackers, nor the movements of them prior to 9/11. Nor did US intelligence determine the true identity of the sender or the ultimate source of the $100,000 dollars which found their way into Mohammed Atta's bank account days after the Prague meeting. As the saying goes, the truth is stranger than fiction. With respect to the "official"? word I'm discussing here, and as reported by the American media, I recurrently hear the famous line from the Sci-Fi movie "Independence Day"? where the fictional Secretary of Defense, Albert Nimziki, says to the fictional US President Whitmore, "Excuse me, Mr. President, that's not entirely accurate."? Call me David Levinson, because I also want to say, "What? Which part?"? When it comes to Able Danger and the ultimate truth about 9/11, the accuracy of what has been reported to date by the media and the "official"? 9/11 Commission the information is very probably highly inaccurate. Massive gaps of inaccurate.
Congressman Curt Weldon (R PA), vice chairman of the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees circulated a letter through Congress on Wednesday, 16 November 2005, which petitions the real Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. This letter, signed at last count by over 235 members of the House of Representatives, formally requests the SECDEF to allow the public testimony of the former members of Project Able Danger in an open hearing before the United States Congress. Here's to Secretary Rumsfeld approving Congressman Weldon's initiative to get the truth to the American taxpaying public. Perhaps such open and public testimony from Able Danger participants will finally put the lie to the mantra coming from the political Left that Saddam and his Iraqi regime had no connection to Al Qaeda, terrorism or multiple Acts of War on American soil against innocent American civilians.
